·
The winner will be the person who has accumulated the most points
after all the matches have been totalled when the 2004 European Championships
are over.
·
Points are scored by correctly predicting which team will win each
game, or whether the game will be drawn. This is done by inserting a 1 in
the box if you predict the first team to win. Insert a 2 in the box if
you predict the second team to win. And insert an X in the box if you
predict a draw.
|
Example Group A
The prediction in the example is
that the game will be a draw because the box is marked with an X.
If you predict Portugal to win then insert a 1. If you predict
Greece to win then insert a 2 |
·
2 points are awarded for each match correctly predicted throughout
the competition.
·
Participants are asked to fill in the boxes for the knockout
stages of the tournament by writing in their chosen teams in the space provided.
|
Example If you predict the competing teams
in the first quarter final to be Spain and England then the first box
should be changed from this -
to look like this -
|
·
The teams listed in this section do not necessarily have to
correspond with the predicted outcome, as determined by the results predicted in
the group stages e.g. If you predict that Denmark will win all their games in
the group stages you can still place them as a group runner-up or omit them
altogether from the knockout games.
·
For the knockout games there will be two points awarded only for
predicting the complete tie correctly e.g. If you predict that, as in the
example above, that Spain will play England in the first quarter final then both
teams must be correct. It is not sufficient to predict the correct winner
of the tie.
|
Example If you fill the section out as below
then Spain must beat England for two
points to be awarded. If Spain beat any other team the prediction is
deemed incorrect and no points will be awarded. This is the same for all
games in the knockout stages. |
·
The team winning the penalty shoot-out will be deemed the winner
of the tie.
·
The maximum points total available is 62.
·
In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by the person
who has predicted the team to concede the most goals during the whole
tournament.
·
If that does not produce a winner then the money will be divided
equally among the individuals concerned.
·
Winners will be notified by the club and all results will be
posted on the website after the competition.
·
The committees decision is final in all matters arising from the
competition.
