 |
Trevor Mangan
Joins the team this season and after a
handful of appearances for the Reserves was promoted to the A team where
he is now first choice keeper. |
 |
Jamie Timlin
Youngster who finally
makes his debut this season with the club after participating in
training and friendly matches for as many years as anyone can remember.
Has played for both teams during the current season. |
|
 |
Shane McKinley
Regular on the reserves
since their formation two years ago. Begins this season with them too
but will hope to step up to first team duties at some stage of the
campaign. Found a new home at fullback midway through the season. |
 |
Sean Hiney
Cast aside any personal
ambitions during his inaugural season at the club when he
played in goals many times despite it not being his preferred position.
A reliable left back he has at various times been deployed at nearly
every position on the field. |
|
 |
Mark
Howley Energy
and workrate have earned him a berth in the team. Added goals to his
repertoire last season but he is yet to find
his best position despite being at the club for nearly five seasons now.
Named vice-captain for the season. Played Collingwood Cup for Maynooth. |
 |
Ciaran Traynor
Youngster who
played all of last season with the B team and posed a threat on his day.
Will be remembered for an exceptional hat trick that was accompanied by
a trio of fanciful celebrations. This season his four goals haul sees
him leading the club scoring charts. |
|
 |
Joe Kearns
Player who is now in his
second stint at the club. Returned last season after a number of years
away and brings a host of qualities to the midfield when he plays. |
 |
John Moyles
Solid centre back who
expected to be focussing on management this year only to be thrust into
action on the opening of the season for the A team! And he didn't look
out of place at all. Was subsequently promoted to the A team full-time. |
|
 |
Enda Jordan
One of the influx of
youngsters that joined the team two years ago he has made an immediate
impression with his energetic displays and bursts of pace.
Split the season between the wing and up front, displaying scoring
ability in both positions. Opened his account this season against Iorras
Aontaithe. |
 |
Keith Gallagher
Youngster who
joined the club for last season. Began the campaign with the B team
but has been upgraded to the A team. Tenaciuos
competitor. |
|
 |
Paul
Flaherty Owner of the sweetest left foot in Mayo.
Operates in midfield or defence
and is the designated dead ball expert at the club. Has missed a
number of games last season due to injury, a noteworthy achievement
considering his lengthy tenure at the club. |
 |
Ronan O'Mara
Another who is in his
second go-round with the club. Returned last season after a number of
years away and began by playing 45 minutes for the A team and
then nearly a whole match for the Reserves on the same day. Forms one
half of the Colossi of Memnon centre-back pairing with Paul Cawley. |
|
 |
Nathan Mullarkey
New arrival last
year who instantly seized the centre-back position for himself. Suffered
a nasty injury in the first game of this season so may be sidelined for
the next while. |
 |
Peter Gibbons
Youngster who has
been around the club for many years due to living locally. Signed for the
first time last season and, despite not featuring too often for the
Reserves has appeared for the A team already, scoring once in the Cup at
Partry. |
|
 |
Michael Timlin
Returned to the
team last season after a year away and bedded in at right back immediately. Can
also play most outfield positions - and has done at one stage or another
of his career - along with in goals
where he excels.
|
 |
John Duggan
Excellent touch and tremendous levels of stamina make him a difficult opponent on either side of Crossmolina’s midfield. A
fluke goal at Kilmore is his only strike this campaign. |
 |
Joe Hennigan
Another new youngster who will be bedded into
the B team this campaign. Has displayed a deft touch in preseason and
his composure on the ball is an asset amidst the normally frantic
proceedings. |
 |
Paul Cawley
New arrival who has immediately
provided a presence in the heart of the B team. A solid defender with a
sound understanding of the game he will prove to be a useful addition
for the reserves.
Forms one half of the
Colossi of Memnon centre-back pairing with Ronan O'Mara. |
|
 |
Ciaran Cawley
Youngster who joined the team this year and
made an immediate impact with two goals on his debut for the reserves,
one of which was a true gem. More performances like that could earn him
a call-up to the A team. |
 |
Kevin O'Brien
New addition who has played at fullback in
preseason. He will look to break into the B team before advancing
further up the ranks.
|
 |
Stewart
Griffin
Can play in
numerous positions but excels in midfield. Aerially dominant, his ball control is unequalled by most players and his repertoire
of flicks and tricks needs to be seen to be believed. Named club captain last year. |
 |
John Luke Flanagan
One of two new goalkeepers to join the B team
this year. Vocal organiser who bravely goes in wherever the ball is.
Made his debut against Newport Town. |
|
|
Johnno Heffernan
Midfielder and left back who loves to pass
the ball. His intelligent use of the ball is a result of coaching he
received as a youngster and also the coaching badges he has accumulated
recently. |
